A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
THE SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000.00), TO
SUPPORT NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00) from the Special Events Account to be donated to Not-For-Profit
Organizations, and
WHEREAS, The Resource Room, NAACP Miami-Dade, Grandparents Raising
Grandchildren Association and Progressive Firefighters Association Charities, will
receive one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the donations would be to provide not-for-profit
organizations funds to assist in their efforts to improve the quality of life and
development for our youth, as well as to impact the lives of the residents in our
community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from the Special Events Account for Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00), to support Not-For-Profit Organizations as outlined above.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS VIRTUAL SPECIAL MEETING HELD O SEPTEMBER 23, 2020.
