HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-106-3504 Agreement with Crown Castle Fiber LLC RESOLUTION NO. 2020-106-3504 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK, TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH CROWN CASTLE FIBER, LLC, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FIBER DATA CONNECTION SOLUTION FOR RISCO PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($115,500.00), BY RELYING UPON THE EXISTING SERVICE CONTRACT BETWEEN CROWN CASTLE FIBER, LLC, F/K/A FIBERNET DIRECT FLORIDA, LLC, AND NORTH BROWARD HOSPITAL DISTRICT D/B/A BROWARD HEALTH; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on April 2014, City of Miami Gardens ("City") residents approved a General Obligation Bond in the amount of Sixty Million Dollars ($60,000,000) for the construction of and improvements to City Parks and related facilities for which the City Council subsequently approved a Bond Implementation Plan, and WHEREAS, to prevent and investigate criminal activity, Risco Park, located at 19010 NW 39th Avenue in Miami Gardens, requires a complex deployment of fixed networked closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) that will stream to the Real Time Crime Center via a fiber connection, and WHEREAS, during the City's selection of a company to implement the fiber connection components for CCTV at Bunche Park Pool, Buccaneer Park, Norwood Park, North Dade Optimist Park, Bunche Park and Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, Crown Castle Fiber was determined to be the least costly integrator for the work, and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City's Code of Ordinances Section 2- 757(b)(2), the City desires to rely on Broward Health's Contract with Crown Castle Fiber that was competively bid through a Request for Proposals on June 4, 2015 and was renewed on May 12, 2020 with a termination date of November 30, 2020, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with Crown Castle Fiber, LLC, for the purchase of a fiber data connection solution in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($115,500.00), NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk, to execute and attest respectively, that certain agreement with Crown Castle Fiber, LLC, for the purchase of a fiber data connection solution in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($115,500.00), by relying upon the existing service contract between Crown Castle Fiber, LLC, f/k/a Fibernet Direct Florida, LLC, and North Broward Hospital District d/b/a Broward Health. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
