A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, CONFIRMING MAYOR OLIVER
GILBERT'S NOMINATION OF ROBERT STEPHENS TO FILL
AT-LARGE SEAT 6; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Gilbert has nominated Robert Stephens to fill At-Large Seat
6, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.5(C) of the City of Miami Gardens
Charter, if six months or more remain in the unexpired term of a vacant City Council
seat, the vacation is filed by a nomination of the Mayor made within thirty calendar days
following the occurrence of the vacancy, subject to confirmation by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby confirms the Mayor's nomination,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: CONFIRMATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby confirms the appointment of Robert Stephens to fill At-Large Seat 6.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2020.
